Women in Sikh history

The book introduces the many women affiliated in Sikh history whom are absent in the mainstream Sikh narrative. There is a decent amount of historical information about each woman as it provides insight in their roles of Sikh history. The thing that was a bit misleading about the book was the fact that the author referred to all the women mentioned to be important or relevant in Sikh history. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to know about these women and their biographies, but when I picked a book about eminent women in Sikh history, I expected more in terms of leadership and influence. There are a great amount of women in the book who do have great influence, but once again, I find it a bit misleading. Overall, it does give great historical context from the times of the gurus, up until now.
